Years 6 and 7 | MYP Project Week
MYP Project Week: Tuesday, April 6 – 9
During the week of April 6 to 9, students in Years 6 and 7 will engage in MYP Project Week. The purpose of this interdisciplinary experience is to make connections between two or more subject disciplines while examining important global topics. In Year 6 the connection will be made between Science and Language & Literature. In Year 7 the focus will be between Math and Individuals & Societies.
We are partnering virtually with Future Design School, known for cultivating student passions and unique ideas to transform local and global communities — it promises to be a busy and engaging experience.
Regular classes will be exchanged for a week programmed to immerse students in two key areas: Climate Change in Year 6 and Poverty in Year 7.
UN Sustainable Development Goal #13, Climate Action – Launching Tuesday, April 6
Year 6 students will explore the topic of the UN Sustainable Development Goal #13, Climate Action, through a series of virtual speakers and activities. Throughout the week, students will collaborate in small groups led by both faculty and Future Design School. Each group will work toward developing a presentation to reflect their learning, their solutions or their personal responses about the topic.
UN Sustainable Development Goal #1, No Poverty – Launching Tuesday, April 6
Year 7 students will explore the topic of the UN Sustainable Development Goal #1, No Poverty, through a series of speakers and activities. Throughout the week, students will collaborate in small groups led by faculty and Future Design School. Each group will work towards developing a presentation that will reflect their learning.
The regular school day timing will not change, thus drop off and pick up will not be affected. At-home learners will be virtually immersed in the experience.
