Year 12 | At-a-glance
All Year 12 students must update their Naviance account indicating all of the universities they are applying to and the outcome of their applications (conditional acceptance, deferred, waitlisted or denied). When a student has submitted an application, please use the edit function (pencil icon) in Naviance to mark it as “submitted” and include the faculty or program to which they have applied.
Upcoming Supplementary Deadlines
February 14 — Western University (Scholar’s Elective Program)
February 19 — University of Waterloo additional information form
Note: It is recommended that students complete the AIF within three weeks of submitting their application on OUAC.
April 28 — Laurier University applicant background summary (optional, but highly recommended)
Note: It is recommended that you complete the background summary within two weeks of applying to Laurier.
If marks are slightly short of the traditional cut-off for a program of interest, students should submit this summary of their co-curricular commitments. Please consult with the counsellor if students plan to do so.
Scholarship Nomination Deadline (nomination required)
February 12 – Huron University Hellmuth Scholarship
Please notify the university counsellor if a student would like to be nominated.
Scholarship Application Deadline (nomination not required)
February 12 – McMaster entrance scholarships for Faculty of Engineering
Two letters of reference are required; please give references ample notice.
March 1 – Ryerson University Prestigious Entrance Awards
Two letters of reference are required with the exception of the International Secondary School Merit Scholarship; please give references ample notice.
March 1 – Dalhousie University General Entrance Award program
To be considered, students must complete the application and submit any additional documents before the deadline. These are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need and cultural identity. Please note, a small number of awards do require a separate application.
