Year 10 career morning – Nov. 13
As part of the compulsory Career Studies course, the University Counselling office and the Department of Alumni Relations will once again host a career morning on Wednesday, Nov. 13 for all Year 10 students. This event is designed to expose the boys to potential careers in a variety of fields and to build understanding of different potential paths.
The guest presenters will be Old Boys and members of the UCC community. Each student will attend two sessions and then complete an assignment for the Career Studies course. Students who are absent on the day are expected to complete an alternative assignment for which they will arrange interviews with two people (non-family members) from two different fields.
Nov. 13 schedule:
Between 8 and 8:15 a.m., Y10 students pick up their personalized schedules for the event outside the iDiv Lounge.
Sessions run between 8:15 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. Students from other grade levels are asked to keep clear of the second floor hallways during that time.
Period 1 classes for all students begin at 9:45 a.m.
Space is limited in each session to ensure appropriate interaction between the students and speakers. Boys are asked to rank their session preferences. Every effort will be made to honour at least one top session choice.
Students will be provided with registration instructions following the November 4 assembly. The registration link will be posted in the UCO section of PowerSchool under Career Studies. Students who do not submit their session preferences in a timely fashion will be scheduled into sessions where space is available.
We are looking forward to an informative and engaging morning. If you have any questions, please contact your son’s university counsellor.
