The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies awards seven scholarships of $3600 to students pursuing post-secondary studies. These scholarships recognize Grade 12 students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting tolerance, social justice, and human rights. Winners must be prepared to act as an ambassador for the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal organization.
Applicants must submit the completed application form, a high school transcript, a copy of an acceptance letter to a post-secondary institution (if applicable), and a 1000-word essay. Two letters of reference are required, with at least one from a teacher or staff member who has considerable knowledge of the student’s experiential background, community involvement, and notable qualities.
The completed application must be received by Monday, February 29; the form can be found here.
