Welcome to fall athletics at the Prep
Welcome to the fall co-curricular season! After months of online learning, we know that our students are looking forward to sharing the stage, field, court, turf and trails with their peers. As we continue to follow the direction of Toronto Public Health recommendations and the Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association’s (CISAA) Return to Sport Plan, our Prep Athletics program remains committed to supporting students in their emotional and physical development in sport.
In Year 4, students will develop their soccer skills and compete in an intra-school (UCC students only) soccer tournament every Day 2, 6 and 8 during their games period. More details will be communicated to the Year 4 parents in the upcoming week.
In Year 5, we continue to offer students an opportunity to sign up for our U11 cross-country team and hope to offer inter-school (between schools) competition later in October. Students may wish to join our soccer program for the fall season and can expect technique development alongside intra-school competition. For those looking to play both soccer and ultimate Frisbee, students can participate in our intramural program. Please note that there is no competition between schools in this program. Games periods happen on Days 2, 3, 6 and 8.
In Year 6, students will have the option to join our U12 cross-country team or try out for our U12 volleyball or U12 soccer teams. In the weeks ahead, we will create opportunities for intra-school competitions while seeking inter-school competitions where we can. For those looking to play both soccer and ultimate Frisbee, students can also participate in our intramural program. Games periods happen on Days 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9.
In Year 7, we offer a wide range of activities for all of our students on Days 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 9.
U13 – Soccer team 1 (Tryout required)
U13- Soccer team 2 (Tryout required)
U14 Tier 2- Volleyball team (Tryout required)

U13- Cross-country (No limit)

We are pleased to announce that our Year 7s can expect opportunities for inter-school competition beginning in October. As the U13 tryout process continues to be finalized, more details surrounding games and performances will be communicated from your child’s coach or play leaders.
With many of our teams unable to compete in games, tournaments or meets this year, our focus will be on creating memorable experiences on campus. We appreciate your support and patience as we continue to navigate these complex and uncertain times.
If you have any questions about the Year 7 play, please contact Paul McGarr, our arts coordinator for the Middle Years. Should you have any other questions about this message, please do not hesitate to contact me.
