Wedd’s vs. Seaton’s water polo

Water polo was added as a Rao Cup event for the first time this year.

Boarders are always looking to add new and exciting activities to ensure the boarder equivalent of the Prefect’s Cup is fun — and maybe trying to gain the upper hand on the opposing house.

The boys may also have been inspired by residential assistants Zach Williams and Denise Hui Bon Hoa. Williams was a four-year varsity water polo player at the University of Victoria and Hui Bon Hoa was a four-year varsity swimmer at Bates University in Lewiston, Maine. They’re both coaches for UCC’s varsity swim team.

Approximately 30 boarders swam or cheerws on their teammates in a hotly contested match on Feb. 9. Wedd’s won the inaugural match, as Ayomide Maxwell scored the winner in a see-saw battle that left all swimmers exhausted and ready for a well-earned snack.
