Upper School clubs are underway
The clubs program is now underway!
The vast majority of student clubs are meeting virtually in order to allow for cross-cohort meetings. The very few exceptions are Model United Nations (in the quad under the tent), Piano Society (Laidlaw Hall), Fencing and Robotics (designated cohort days of the week).
All clubs have one official meeting once a week. They are slotted either Tuesday at lunch, Thursday during Community Time, or Thursday after school, which starts at 4:30 p.m. to allow for members to commute home for virtual meetings. In addition to those three slots, a number of clubs are classified as asynchronous, comprising a fourth group. These are clubs in which students work on their own or in small groups and only meet occasionally.
Students may continue to view the offerings on Brightspace. If you are interested, please ask your child to show you some of the excellent club videos showcased by slot there. In total there are 106 clubs that students can choose from. They represent a huge range of interests, activities and opportunities for learning. Please click on this list for a quick glimpse of the offerings.
Finally, I wish to express a big thank you to the Clubs Advisory Committee, a student leadership council I work with, and especially to their leader, Community Service Steward Apostolos Zezos. His tireless efforts in helping to organize our program this fall were invaluable.
