Year 12s

Happy New Year and here’s to your graduation year of 2022! We hope you all are safe, healthy and had a nice break over the holidays. We understand the switch to virtual learning may feel incredibly disruptive, but please be rest assured, the university application process will continue to move forward and you all have done an incredible job in meeting deadlines thus far. You must continue to monitor all emails from universities you have applied to and stay on top of the final deadlines that are approaching for any outstanding information required.

Here are just a few important FINAL application and supplementary deadlines to make note of:

January 13 — Final date to apply to any Ontario university through the OUAC application system.

January 13 @ 4 p.m. — Richard Ivey School of Business AEO application deadline (please note the exact time of 4 p.m.!).

January 15 — UBC and McGill application deadline.

January 28 — McMaster University supplements deadline (Engineering, Computer Science, Arts & Science, Integrated Science, Integrated Business and Humanities) Applicants to the Health Sciences program will be sent an individual deadline in February.

February 1 — University of Toronto Engineering essay and 2 videos; Rotman Commerce essay and video

Reminder: The final Year 12 Career Studies assignment, The Application Tracker Google Document (found in the Year 12 Career Studies course in Brightspace) must be completed by January 10 to receive this mandatory, graduation credit!

Once again, it is important for all Year 12 students to update your Naviance list of colleges you are applying to, indicating if you have submitted your application and any admission result (accepted, denied, deferred etc.). This is very important to do at this time to ensure your counsellor is able to best support you in this process. Please email your counsellor if you have any questions.

Year 10 IB course counselling meetings

As the course selection process will be upcoming for all Year 10 students in choosing their Diploma Programme courses, please attend the Year 10 parent information evening regarding the course selection on January 11 at 7 p.m.

Subsequently, all Year 10 students will receive a Google Meet Invite from their university counsellor for a one-on-one IB Diploma Programme course selection meeting, which will take place either in person or virtually depending on the current situation at that time. Please ensure students accept the invitation. If you are unable to attend your scheduled meeting, please let your university counsellor know so that they may reschedule your appointment.
