Update | Course change requests
Please note the following key dates and information about the course change process for the 2020-21 academic year.
To begin the course change process, send an email to the following MYP coordinator or university counsellor:
All Year 9: Joe Smith
Year 10 and 11 | Bremner’s & Howard’s: Michael Munshaw
Year 10 and 11 | Jackson’s & Martland’s: Michelle Embury
Year 10 and 11 | McHugh’s & Mowbray’s: Brian McDonald
Year 10 and 11| Orr’s & Scadding’s: Nili Isaacs
Year 10 and 11| Seaton’s & Wedd’s: Andrew Turner
Due to the change in our schedule this year (Term A & Term B) the usual course change process has been revised to provide more support to students. Requests should be made as quickly as possible so that your student does not miss an extensive portion of the course.
Course Change Dates (Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11)
Begins: Day 2 (September 10)
Ends (late course change process begins): Day 7 (September 17)
Begins: Day 2 (October 8)
Ends (late course change process begins): Day 7 (October 18)
Course Change Forms must be signed by the parent, student, and your student’s University Counsellor or MYP Coordinator.
There is also a Late Course Change process that begins after the end dates. At that point, your student will have spent more time in his courses and the request to move from one course to another can be more complex. A discussion centred on potential impacts will be led by the University Counsellor/MYP Coordinator and involves the student and parent, course teachers, advisor and the CfL as required.
With regard to course changes, please be aware that every effort will be made to honour requests; however, certain changes may not be possible because of timetabling constraints and the Health & Safety requirements.
