Update | Arman Narzibekov in Moscow
On Tuesday, October 6, Arman checked in from Moscow for a Google Meet university counselling session—he also provided some insight into his life in Russia’s biggest city. With an urban population of over 12 million, daily cases of COVID-19 are on the rise and with a relatively slow buy-in to the necessity of wearing face masks, Arman is eager to return to UCC boarding life.
Arman misses his buddies in Seaton’s, and he’s anxious to pick up his duties as a Prefect in the boarding community. It was great to see him Monday at the weekly Boarding Student Leadership meeting!
Arman’s goal is to study industrial engineering at the University of Toronto. He knows he needs to build a strong foundation at UCC so he is ready for undergraduate studies and eventually post-graduate studies. He is enamoured with the possibility of doing a Professional Experience Year (PEY) following his second or third of university, where he can become immersed in a 12 to 16-month co-op opportunity.
Arman says he enjoys many aspects of our Continuous Learning Plan (CLP); the time difference is the only real challenge. To join his classmates synchronously Arman has settled into a daily routine where he goes to sleep at 3 p.m. ET, and wakes up between 2 and 3 a.m. ET.
