Upcoming workshops for Canadian university applicants
For those students applying to Canadian universities, it is just as important to start the research process early as it is when applying to the US or UK. With that in mind, the University Counselling Office is offering the following workshops this spring. Please note that we may repeat these workshops in the fall term, but if you attend the sessions in IB1, you can begin some of your research and planning over the summer.
Monday, May 16 (period 3 spare) OR Thursday, May 19 (period 3 spare) in Room 302 (CC3)—Canadian application essays
An increasing number of Canadian university programs require supplemental essays as part of the application process. This session will provide an overview of the most common types of application essays in order to help students plan ahead.
Tuesday, May 17 at lunch in Room 127—Canadian scholarship applications
This workshop is designed for those students who would like to explore scholarship options in Canada. We will discuss types of scholarships, the characteristics of successful applicants, research strategies, the typical application format, and references.
