Upcoming university visits to UCC

Monday, November 4 @ 3:30 in Room 140—University of Richmond

Located on a 350-acre campus just six miles from downtown, the University of Richmond combines the personal approach of a small liberal arts school with the resources of a larger university. All students are guaranteed up to $4000 for a summer research or internship experience. International students may qualify for need-based and merit awards to help with the cost of their education.

Thursday, November 7 @ lunchtime in Room 140—Franklin University, Switzerland

A private liberal arts college in Lugano, Switzerland, Franklin University offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain an American-style education in Europe. The curriculum follows an interdisciplinary approach that promotes international awareness and critical thinking. While most classes are taught in English, students must gain proficiency in another European language before graduating. The most popular majors are International Management, International Relations, Environmental Studies, Communications and Media Studies and International Economics.

Thursday, November 7 @ 3:30pm in Room 128—University of St Andrews

The oldest university in Scotland, the University of St. Andrews is steeped in tradition.  By participating in a four-year degree program, humanities graduates gain an M.A. rather than a B.A. With the largest medieval history department in the U.K., the school is best known for its outstanding humanities programs, but its science departments are also highly ranked. With a specialty in “terrorism studies,” the department of international relations draws a lot of attention. St. Andrews has two medical programs open to students from high school: one partners with the University of Manchester and qualifies students to practise in the UK; the other partners with Edinburgh University and the University of Alberta and is designed to facilitate the process of qualifying to practise in Canada.
