University of Waterloo applauded for co-op programs

The University of Waterloo has the largest co-operative education program in the world and the success of this style of experiential learning has recently been earning the university a great deal of international acclaim. According to an article in Times Higher Education, many of the jobs in Silicon Valley are going to graduates from Stanford, Berkeley, and Waterloo.

It is not just computer science or engineering students who have access to co-op programs at Waterloo, however. Those in history or fine arts, for example, might gain experience working in galleries, museums or public relations. Co-op students earn an average salary of $15,000 per work term.
