University of Guelph national scholarships

The National Scholarship Program at the University of Guelph consists of 12 scholarships valued at $42,000 each; they also include a research assistantship and mentorship by one of Guelph’s leading professors. These scholarships recognize academic excellence, innovation, community and school engagement, and leadership. Students must achieve a minimum 90% admission average to be considered.

The awards fall into the following categories:

8 President’s Scholarships recognize students of academic distinction who have made significant contributions to their schools and communities and demonstrate the potential to become leaders in society.

2 Lincoln Alexander Scholarships recognize students of academic distinction who have made significant contributions to their schools and communities and demonstrate the potential to become leaders in society. They are designed to enhance diversity on the campus and therefore focus on aboriginal peoples, racial minorities, and students with disabilities.

2 Chancellors’ Scholarships recognize students of academic distinction who have made significant contributions their schools and communities and demonstrate the potential to become leaders in society. These scholarships are awarded to students who have taken a leadership role in activities that demonstrate an interest in international relations and development and/or an interest in activities relating to arts and culture. Students should submit an on-line application available http://admission.uoguelph.ca/topscholarships no later than January 27. Please note that the application requires two letters of reference. Finalists are required to attend an on-campus interview in late March.
