UCC-BSS boat cruise first of many co-ed activities
Upper Canada College and the Bishop Strachan School students embarked on the annual dinner-dance boat cruise around the Toronto Islands and inner harbour, Friday, Sept. 19. New students were introduced to the vibrant nightlife that exists on the boardwalk along the Toronto waterfront. All students got spectacular views of the new urban village being created to house athletes during the Pan American Games that Toronto will host in July 2015. The summer games development supports the new “waterfront vision,” designed to make creative use of underused and unappreciated space that will become a public asset that is accessible to everyone.
The vibrant lights of the city provided a great backdrop for the development of new friendships and contributed to wonderful memories as students enjoyed dinner and danced the night away. The boat cruise is the first of many activities that UCC and BSS students will enjoy together over the year. The boat cruise initiated new friendships that will continue to develop as students meet in the Forest Hill Village and while working together in theatre productions and community service activities. A Halloween dance is the next scheduled social event with BSS.
