UCC appointment | Director of hockey

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Noble as UCC’s Director of Hockey and Head Varsity Hockey coach. Thanks and gratitude to Carl Beaudoin, who held both portfolios for the past seven years and is stepping down from the role at the end of this school year to focus on his role in boarding and other responsibilities he holds at UCC.

Dan has spent the past 14 years at the Hill Academy as a coach and the Director of Athlete Performance where one of his roles was to work directly with the hockey program on a daily basis. He has also served as the strength and development coach for the National Women’s Hockey Team. Dan specializes in talent identification, skill acquisition, practice planning and maximizing athletic potential both on and off the ice by focusing on development and thoroughly understanding each player’s strengths. During his time at the Hill Academy, Dan helped develop players such as the Ontario Hockey League’s Shane Wright, and continues to train Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He continues to work with some of the best players in the world both on and off the ice. Dan left the Hill Academy in 2019 and formed GRIT Athletics, where he trains a range of professional and amateur hockey players. He is currently the Head Coach with the Don Mills Flyers U10 AAA team.

In addition to his extensive experience with hockey and player development, the College’s hiring panel were impressed with Dan’s understanding of the student-athlete, a commitment to character development and team building. We are excited about the future of hockey programming at UCC under Dan’s leadership.
