The Youth Ambassadors leadership exchange opportunity

The Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada is a three-week leadership exchange program in the United States for teenagers ages 15-18. The program provides full scholarships for participants to take part in cultural and educational programming focused on civic engagement and social entrepreneurship.

The Youth Ambassadors Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by World Learning. The Youth Ambassadors Program brings together high school students and adult mentors from across the Western Hemisphere to promote mutual understanding, increase leadership skills, and prepare youth to make a difference in their communities. The program aims to develop a cadre of young adults throughout the Americas who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills.
Criteria for teen applicants:
• must be Canadian citizens
• demonstrated commitment to implementing a community service project
• 15-18 years old with at least 4 months left of high school
• interest and limited experience in the USA
• demonstrated leadership potential and community involvement

The application is open until March 20, 2020.
