Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Spring Garden Clubs – Sprouts and Green Team

Rising temperatures and increasing daylight hours are encouraging the last few mounds of snow and ice around campus to disappear, revealing the raised bed planter boxes and in-ground beds of the Prep Learning Garden.

Two faculty-run gardening clubs will take place this spring. Students will spend time in the Learning Garden exploring where food comes from and discovering what is means to live sustainably. Healthy snacks made using ingredients from the garden will be prepared together and enjoyed. Activities will include digging, weeding, harvesting, planting, and eco-crafts. The activities of the club support the inquiry-based approach of the Primary Years Programme.

Permission forms will be distributed to students who expressed interest during the week of April 8. Students must return the signed permission form to Ms. Kastelic in the Art Room as soon as possible. Spots will be filled on a first-come,-first-served basis. Participation will be confirmed through welcome letter sent home by Friday, April 19.

These clubs are free of charge and not part of the fee-for-service After School Program (ASP). When planning your son’s activities, please consult the ASP timetable to avoid scheduling conflicts.
