Speaker series welcomes renowned psychologist Dr. Adam Cox on Monday, Sept. 22
The Prep and Upper School parents are invited to join the UCC community at a Speaker Series event on Monday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Weston Hall.
Back by popular demand, Dr. Adam Cox is a licensed and board certified clinical psychologist, founder of the Mighty Good Kids Workshop for Social and Emotional Development and he studies the neuropsychological assessment of youth. He’s been consulting and writing about the emotional and cognitive development of school-age children for over a decade and is the author of On Purpose Before Twenty: Selected Essays, No Mind Left Behind: Understanding and Fostering Executive Control –The Eight Essential Brain Skills Every Child Needs to Thrive and Boys of Few Words: Raising Our Sons to Communicate and Connect.
Dr. Cox will speak about how boys build resiliency and the tools they’ll need to get there. He’ll discuss how boys express their needs, and methods to satisfy them. His methods have been adopted in school systems throughout Canada and the U.S. He’s most concerned with the social, academic and emotional development of students.
