Seaton’s-Wedd’s House Hockey team vs. Jackson’s
It’s a rare occasion when Seaton’s and Wedd’s combine forces to do battle against the day houses. With students coming from over 20 countries, it was getting more difficult for Seaton’s and Wedd’s to field a team of players with enough skating experience to be competitive.
The combined team brought out greater numbers because novice level skaters felt less intimidated; there’s definitely strength in numbers. It’s also easier to get out of bed for a 7 a.m. puck drop when you know friends are doing the same thing. The Seaton’s-Wedd’s team dominated the game this morning. Artem Khachaturov (Y1–Moscow) was stellar as the goaltender, Jake Gamoyda (Orangeville, Ont.) and Colby Muise (Yarmouth, N.S.) each scored their maximum three goals. Other strong performances came from Kyungphil Ko (IB2 –South Korea) and Trung Tran (IB2 – Vietnam). The final score was 9-4 for the boarding team! The boys are on a roll; no doubt the Tim Hortons donuts provided by Mr. Evans was a key piece of the game preparation.
