Scholarships at U.K. universities

While Canadian students are not always eligible for scholarships or financial aid at universities in the UK, students who are considering applying to UK schools should check the websites of various universities to see if there are awards for which they may apply. The Universities of Sheffield, Nottingham, and Reading, for example, have a few IB scholarships open to Canadians. The ones at Reading will cover all three years of international tuition. The University of Kent also has scholarships worth up to £5000 per annum for international students.

The University of St. Andrews (visiting next week) has several scholarships for which international students would be eligible. Each award has different conditions and a separate application and deadline. Click here for more details. The most lucrative of these awards is the McEuan Scholarship, open to Canadian students only and covering tuition and residence fees for all four years of study.
