Scholarships at the University of Ottawa
In addition to automatic admission scholarships of up to $16,000, the University of Ottawa has a number of scholarships that require a separate application.
The President’s Scholarship, valued at $30,000 is aimed at students who are bilingual in French and English, have a minimum admission average of 92%, and have demonstrated extensive leadership in academic and extracurricular activities.
The Chancellor’s Scholarship, valued at $26,000, requires an admission average of at least 92% and extensive leadership in academic and extracurricular activities.
Each faculty has a wide range of scholarships available, some for first year only and others renewable. Perhaps the most exciting of these is the Faculty of Science Undergraduate Research Scholarship that consists of two paid work terms with a research group in either the Faculty of Science or Faculty of Medicine. Students must have a minimum admission average of 92%, demonstrate research skills and involvement in extracurricular science activities, have recommendations from two science teachers and submit a 250-word essay describing their passion for science and how they share it with others.
The application deadline for all scholarships is March 1. You can find more details here.
