Report on trip to St. Lawrence Market
Dr. Amit Morris, Seaton’s senior house adviser, led a dozen Year 2 and FY boarders to the St. Lawrence Market on Saturday, Jan. 9. The boys departed at 9:30 a.m. to become active participants in one of the oldest markets in the province. The market opened more than 200 years ago and today sports more than 120 vendors. Our guys didn’t make the 5:30 a.m. opening, but arrived in plenty of time for a good brunch meal and to pick up delicacies that can be consumed over the course of the week. It’s our hope that an introduction from Dr. Morris will help the boys use the subway to visit the market on their own. The boarding houses are perfectly situated to allow boys to enjoy many of the amenities available to them in their hometown. UCC is lucky to have such a wonderful small-town market available in such a large city.
Thanks to Dr. Morris for introducing the boarders to such a vibrant Toronto tradition.
