Remembrance Day; first dress and poppies

Tuesday, Nov. 11 is Remembrance Day. The school day will begin with Advising at 8:30 a.m., which means mandatory advising group meetings for all Y2 day boys (with their respective senior day house advisers) and all Y1 and IB1 boys (in their mentoring pairs, with the corresponding form advisers.) For the FY and IB2 boys (and the Y2 boarding students), Tuesday advising is by appointment, so each boy will know whether or not he has an individual meeting with his adviser that morning.

We’ll follow a special schedule that allows for our annual Remembrance Day assembly to take place after period 1 and morning recess, at 10:30 a.m. sharp. Because of this, poppies for all day boys will be distributed first thing in the morning, through the advising groups (for all Y1, Y2 and IB1 Day students) and by period 1 teachers (for all FY and IB2 day students.) (Boarders will receive their poppies the night before in the boarding houses.)

In addition, all students must wear first dress for the day (and every first day of every week after that for the rest of the school year, until the March Break.)

Thanks very much and have a great long weekend.

Dean of Students
