PYP Exhibition update and parent information session
In the final year of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Year 5 students participate in the PYP Exhibition, a collaborative, student-directed, research-based, action-oriented culminating learning experience. Students lead their inquiry connected to a local or global issue that they care about.
To learn more about the PYP Exhibition process we are hosting a parent information session on Wed, Feb. 26 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the back room of the library. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
We celebrate the completion of the PYP Exhibition project with our community on Fri, May 8 and parents are invited to our Exhibition Day celebrations between 1 and 3 p.m.
Year 5 students have been talking about the PYP Exhibition since early this school year. Recently, students began the “pre-search” phase of our research, reviewing resources in advance of choosing topics, both in the library and in class. They will soon indicate their top 3 choices of issues that they care about and groups, based on issues of interest, will be formed late in Feb. We expect research to begin in earnest in March.
As this is a collaborative project, done mostly at school, please keep non-necessary absences to a minimum during the spring term.
Should you have any questions about the PYP Exhibition, please speak to your son’s Form Adviser or Dianne Jojic.
