PYP Exhibition update
Year 5 is the last year of the Primary Years Program (PYP) and, as such, students engage in the PYP Exhibition — a collaborative, student-directed, research-based and action-oriented independent inquiry.
Students will lead their PYP exhibition inquiry in the spring term.
The boys are revisiting the key concepts of form, function, causation, change, connection, perspective, responsibility and reflection in exhibition periods. They’ve been using these concepts to write questions in their current inquiry and when considering unknown issues in exhibition periods. The key concepts will continue to provide a framework for student questions.
As we work towards the March break, you can expect more interesting conversations at home at the dinner table.
To help parents better understand the PYP Exhibition, a parent information session will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the back room of the Wilder Library.
PYP Exhibition day is Friday, May 11 between 1 and 3 p.m. Year 5 boys will showcase their inquiry projects and action in a UCC community celebration. Year 5 parents should plan to attend.
Please speak to your son’s form teacher or PYP coordinator Dianne Jojic, who can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have any questions about the PYP Exhibition.
