Post-Secondary Transition Workshops
Now that we are moving into the final term of IB2 and university admission offers are coming in fast and furious, it is starting to hit home that you will be heading off to post-secondary studies in only a few months.
Ongoing research and anecdotal evidence from Old Boys indicates that moving from high school to the next stage of education is both exciting and stressful. Consequently, the University Counselling Office has prepared a program designed to address many of your questions and concerns and ease your transition to post-secondary education.
The program will be delivered at a series of lunchtime sessions and will focus on the most common challenges faced by students starting university and offer practical tips on how to make the most of your new environment.
Two further incentives to attend:
- each session will feature an Old Boy offering insights and advice based on his experiences in negotiating the transition from UCC to post-secondary studies;
- pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
Students must contact Ms Berndsen by Friday, April 1 in order to indicate which workshop they wish to attend. The dates available include:
Monday, April 4
Wednesday, April 6
Monday, April 11
Wednesday, April 13
A separate session for boarding students will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
Check your schedule and contact Ms Berndsen as soon as possible to secure a spot in your first-choice session!
