Dr. Karen Leslie has an undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph in Human Kinetics, a medical degree from McMaster University, trained in Pediatrics at Queen’s University and has a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Leslie also has a graduate degree in health professions education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto and is a professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto teaching medical students and other health professional learners. She is the Director of the Centre for Faculty development overseeing faculty and teacher development for the Faculty of Medicine.
In her clinical role, Dr. Leslie oversees the Adolescent Substance Abuse Program and works with the Transgender Youth Program as well as other adolescent medicine clinics and programs including the Eating Disorders Program.
Her scholarly interests are in the area of health care issues and health outcomes for adolescents with substance abuse, as well as career development and mentoring for health professionals.
