Please stay connected to your counsellor!
Even though in-person meetings are temporarily suspended, the University Counselling office is open for business via email or Google meetings. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your questions or concerns.
We anticipate that our office will be uploading April grades to OUAC (and subsequently other Canadian universities) early next week. These will serve as your final grades for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
It is important to remember that all post-secondary programs in Canada will continue to make offers of admission through the months of April and May. While waiting is not easy, we see no indication that there is any change in the timing of offers compared to previous years. As soon as you hear from schools regarding their decisions (accept, deny, waitlist), please be sure to update Naviance.
The IB has kept universities around the world fully informed of the changes regarding the calculation of final grades in the diploma. As needed, the University Counselling Office will be reaching out to universities in order to provide additional context; however, at this time, most universities have not yet finalized their policies; where they have done so, they have provided updated messaging on their admission websites. We have received many reassuring messages from admission offices indicating that they will be treating every applicant with compassion and understanding during these challenging times.
Students are encouraged to check their portals at any schools where they have applied to ensure that they are fully informed about any changes to deadlines regarding response dates or deposits.
