Get set for Pink Shirt Day on Feb. 25

We’ve observed Pink Shirt Day, in connection with Bullying Awareness Week in November, for the past three years. In support of this initiative, we’ll have a Casual Dress Day on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Boys are encouraged to wear pink shirts.

This year we decided to join forces with the Upper School to focus more specifically on the origins of the initiative, to combat homophobic bullying. At the Prep we’re looking to promote the idea of recognizing similarities and differences, and being accepting of all. The Gay Straight Alliance will speak at assembly to Forms 6 and 7 in an age-appropriate way. The focus for SK to Form 5 is to be inclusive and accepting of everyone.
