Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Phys-ed at the Prep

After returning from the March Break refreshed and well-rested, the SK to Year 5 boys have been engaged in a number of different activities:

SK – Fitness
1G – Co-operative Games
2F – Co-operative Games
3C – Striking and Fielding
3F – Fitness & Dance
4B – Track and Field
4F – Track and Field
5F – Track and Field
5H – Softball
5M – Cricket

The boys should have their full PE uniform, including indoor and outdoor shoes, available every day.

The Year 6 boys are continuing with their four mini-units; skating, snorkeling, gymnastics and badminton. After these units are completed, they will begin their spring unit, “Striking and Fielding Game Creation.” The Year 7s have already started their spring rotation. They are exploring three different activities through a fitness unit, “Rowing, Circuit Training and Resistance Training.” All boys in Year 6 and Year 7 will be required to have their full PE uniform at school each day.

With the unpredictable weather of the spring term come daily modifications to our PE program. For example, if we are scheduled to be outside for a softball class and a thunderstorm moves in, we will have to move inside. For this reason, all boys should have both cleats (required for outdoor activities such as softball) and clean running shoes (required for indoor activities).

On behalf of the PE department, we hope you enjoyed your March Break and that the spring term brings new and exciting opportunities for you and your family.
