PFLAG presentation to Form 7 students on Nov. 19

As part of Bullying Awareness Week, Anne Creighton of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) will be speaking with our Form 7 students on Wednesday, Nov. 19 between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.

The discussion will focus on things we can and cannot change, celebrating differences and empathy as a response to bullying or exclusion. In addition, the presenter addresses homophobia and coming out. The presentation is by a mom and includes an anecdote about her LGBTQ child who experienced bullying in elementary school. The presenter uses her own child’s story as a guide and encourages students to be more accepting of their LGBTQ classmates.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jill Stewart, Coordinator of Health and Life Skills.
