Parent book club returns
Join Kathryn Barnes, director of the Centre for Learning, for a discussion of the book The Dolphin Parent: A Guide to Raising Healthy, Happy, and Self-Motivated Kids by Dr. Shimi K. Kang on Monday Dec. 12.
Earlier this year, I wrote about the importance of having our children grow up in supportive environments that promote a growth mindset, help foster resiliency and grit, and equip our children with the tools they need to thrive. In this book, Dr. Kang shares with us her research on childhood development and mental health, and how our parenting style can help to foster these things and raise healthy, happy and self-motivated children.
After reading the book and visiting her website please come prepared to share your thoughts and discuss with other parents.
Date: Monday, Dec. 12
Time: 8 a.m.–9:30 a.m; Arena Lounge
Time: 5 p.m.–6 p.m.; TBC
This event is suitable for all parents. Please email Julia Rosefield at firstname.lastname@example.org and confirm which time you’ll attend.
This presentation is brought to you by the College, the PO and the PPO as part of our parent exchange program.
