Online subscriptions to access from home
We have several online subscriptions for educational tools that we use at school.
We don’t use these programs daily, but they’re used quite regularly in addition to other activities (both pencil and paper as well as digital). Please feel free (but not compelled) to use these resources at home. If personal log-in credentials are required, you should be able to find them in your son’s agenda.
All boys can access the Tumblebook eLibrary at tumblebooks.com. There are read-along picture books, chapter books, graphic novels and even non-fiction books and videos available for enjoyment. Some are in French and Spanish. To access this resource, sign in with:
All boys in Senior Kindergarten to Form 5 have access to online ebooks through KidsA-Z.com. Raz-Kids allows your son to read and listen to books and even record himself reading aloud at a level selected by his teacher. Afterwards he can take a quiz to check for comprehension. With the points he accumulates by completing these activities, he can decorate his Raz-Rocket or Robot. His teacher receives feedback on the types of questions he’s able to answer and those that he needs to practise some more. Boys are encouraged to re-read books until they’re comfortable with the content before completing the comprehension quizzes. Please follow this link for more information about getting signed in and setting up parent access.
All boys in SK to Form 4 have access to an engaging online math program through Mathletics.ca. The boys love to do “Live Mathletics” where they can compete against others to practice their basic math facts. However, Mathletics will also allow him to complete activities assigned by his teacher, learn multiplication tables or review concepts. With the points he accumulates by completing these activities, he can decorate his avatar. Parents can receive a weekly report of their son’s progress in Mathletics via email. Please follow this link for more information about getting signed in and setting up parent access.
All the boys in SK to Form 3 have access to BrainPopJr at home and school through jr.brainpop.com. BrainPopJr gives students access to animated movies, learning games and interactive quizzes linked to subjects studied in schools. Students can access these resources at brainpopjr.com or by using iPad or Android applications. You’re welcome to sign in with:
Boys in Forms 4 to 7 will soon have individual accounts for the version of BrainPop aimed at older students.
