Norval Spring Open House May 12

Celebrate Mother’s Day this year by doing something special. Bring your mom to the Norval Spring Open House!

Norval Outdoor School hosts seasonal open houses that allow the families and friends of UCC boys to experience the great Norval activities the boys talk about. Join us on Sunday, May 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. for Norval’s final Open House of the school year. Here’s a brief sample of some activities:

  • Photo scavenger hunt: We’ll give you photos or lists of places or things at Norval. Your job is to find them and take their picture. (Use your own camera or borrow ours.)
  • New Norval garden: The boys have worked hard to create this appealing and educational garden. Herbs, flowers, veggies, we have it all.  Speak with resident gardener Ms. Jankowski for tips to spruce up your own garden.
  • Crayfish safari: Did you know three species of crayfish live in the Credit River? Help us catch (and release) them. Bring rubber boots to wade into the river.

As usual we’ll have food, refreshments and displays in Stephen House. Friends, family members and dogs on leashes are all welcome. There’s no charge.

Directions: Take Highway 401 west to Winston Churchill Boulevard. Follow Winston Churchill Boulevard north and go through the village of Norval. Continue straight ahead. The entrance to the Norval property is on your left, 1.2 kilometres north of the village stoplight. The drive takes about 50 minutes from UCC in light traffic.
