NCAA Lacrosse comes to UCC
Dear UCC Community,
Lacrosse has been a part of Upper Canada College since 1867 when the team played in the first ever high school game. UCC will again be a leader in the Canadian lacrosse community as we host three Division I NCAA teams on Thanksgiving weekend.
The University of Massachusetts Amherst, Rutgers University, and Hobart College will practice on Saturday, October 12 and play three games on Sunday, October 13. The teams will begin practicing at 2 p.m. on Saturday and the schedule for Sunday is as follows:
This weekend is also special as Jackson Suboch, UCC ’15, returns to campus as a senior on the UMass team. Jackson played lacrosse at UCC for 6 years and was a member of the Team Canada U19 team that won silver in 2016.
Everyone is welcome on both days and, as part of the games, three Year 12 students are collecting lacrosse equipment to be donated to a community in in Ontario or Canada’s north. It is hoped these donations will help a community start a youth lacrosse program.
Should you have any questions regarding the games please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours in lacrosse,
