Message from SK
The SK class recently completed the “Let’s Play” unit by performing a puppet show in Weston Hall to an audience of parents. The show was entirely created by the boys and showcased their ability to effectively use all of the problem solving and decision making skills they explored throughout the unit. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend.
The students will now begin our third unit of inquiry. The central idea of this unit is “People celebrate events based upon tradition and culture.” We look at events that people celebrate across cultures, traditions connected to them, similarities and differences and reasons that people celebrate. Although we focus on this unit in December, we naturally explore celebrations over the course of the school year as various celebrations occur. We’ve already been fortunate to have some parents volunteer their time to come into the classroom. They’ve shared information about celebrations that are meaningful to their families and allowed the SKs to join in the celebration. We welcome more volunteers to speak with the class about the various celebrations still to come in the remaining months of school.
It won’t be long before the winter holiday arrives. Some reminders for the weeks to come:
Friday, Dec. 5
