Message from Ian Robinson, head, Middle Division
Dear parents of all Form 6 and 7 students:
I trust that as you’re finishing your summer break you can reflect on a happy and enjoyable time spent with family and friends. Equally, I also trust that your sons are all raring to return to UCC and can’t wait for the doors to open next week!
For the many who don’t know some of my history, I was born in England and registered immediately at Canada House. Both of my parents were Canadian – my mother from Hamilton and my father from Dundas. After teaching in France and England for five years, I secured a position at UCC where I spent 19 years from 1976-1995, under Dick Howard and Hamish Simpson, two great heads. In 1995, I was appointed principal of Sterling Hall, a position that I held until retirement in 2012.
For me, the last few weeks have been an exciting and fascinating time as I prepare for the upcoming year as the interim Middle School head. I look forward very much to meeting all of you and your sons as we embark on the 2014-2015 academic year.
Please note that the information in this edition of Heads Up is a copy of the information sent to you with the July 10 summer mailing, in case you missed it.
With very best wishes,
Ian Robinson head, Middle Division
