Message from Year 6
The Year 6 boys have had a very busy two weeks, participating in rich learning opportunities both in the classroom and as a larger community. Last Friday our Year 5, 6 and 7 boys participated in Prep Games Day. This day promotes team spirit amongst Colour Houses and marks the final stretch of our school year. With only 11 school days left, our boys are wrapping up final units of study while continuing to build habits that will follow them into Year 7.
In mathematics, you’ll find us analyzing sets of data and applying our critical thinking skills to a wide range of graphs. Given the excitement surrounding our Toronto Raptors and the latest NHL series, we looked at some data sets that confirm the talent of Kawhi Leonard (although we already knew that) and discussed the effectiveness of Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins.
In language and literature, the boys have been working tirelessly on their persuasive speech. With one finalist from each class moving on to the Year 6 Speech Contest, excitement and motivation are at a high. Topics range from the urgency of addressing climate change to the benefits of playing video games! We’re so excited for the boys to be able to showcase their hard work in front of their peers and teachers.
