Message from Year 3
We’ve had a few really busy weeks and we thank you for all your support in keeping the boys organized and completely engaged in our program.
Both classes had a sensational time at Norval. They had some fantastic outdoor experiences that we encourage you to ask them about. The boys enjoyed the Norval grounds by engaging in service work (releasing salmon, clearing invasive species and creating environmental messages for their boats). We encourage families to go on to Youtube and look up Paddle to the Sea. This film from the 1970s has inspired some of the Norval programming ideas. If you watch the film, you’ll be able to have an informed and productive debrief. You may also inquire about the yummy Norval food and many delicious snacks.
We thank our parent community for their participation in UCC Maths on Monday, May 27. We appreciate your time and interest in our program. We’re confident you had a little fun and got a better view of what’s happening in your son’s class.
We’re still finalizing our Cityscape field trip on Tuesday, June 4. We’ll need four volunteers per class for this trip. Please let your class parent know if you’re interested. If you choose to volunteer for this trip you’ll be going with your son, another UCC teacher and three or four more students. This trip has always been a highlight for our students, and we hope you can come and enjoy it with us. If you choose to participate, please note we’ll need your help for the full school day.
We’re trying our best to enjoy this variable weather. Please make sure your son has a hat, sunscreen and water bottle as we like to be able to enjoy some outdoor time when we can. Our current unit on land use lends itself to being outside and doing some projects outside of the classroom.
We thank you for your support.
