Message from Tom Babits, Head, Primary Division
I trust your sons had a good start back at school after March Break. As the weather starts to warm, albeit slowly, I’d like to provide a few updates:
The plan for completion of phase one of the new Learning Grounds has been confirmed. This involves the installation of two major climbing structures. The tree from Norval is scheduled to be installed next Monday, March 30, probably mid-day. The tower and log jam will begin to be installed on Tuesday, March 31. If all goes well, the boys should be on it by the end of the week of April 13.
Spring at UCC also means its the season of mud. While we endeavour to remind boys to be careful, the fields take a while to dry out and clothes and shoes easily get soiled. Please take this opportunity to ensure your washing machines are in good working order.
Finally, the Eaton Building basement is enjoying a colourful revitalization throughout its corridors, entrances and music wing. I trust you will be pleasantly greeted by a playful ribbon of school colours, shadow figures, inspiring quotes and more.
The magic of creative work doesn’t happen by chance. Together with teacher input, volunteer parents and the dedicated PPO, several people have worked hard for months to bring new energy to the boys. Thank you to all involved.
