Message from Tom Babits, Head, Primary Division
I have a critically important reminder as we rapidly approach winter and eventual snow and ice, and the rushing around that comes with the approaching holiday season. Over the past few weeks, we’ve had a number of close calls involving automobiles reported both at drop-off and pick-up times.
I implore all drivers on campus to drive with “safety first” in mind.
- Please adhere to careful driving practices.
- Do not block entrances, or drop-off/pick-up areas.
- Do not get distracted while driving.
- Please slow down. We have a 20 km/h speed limit on campus.
- Please follow the directions of our security personal.
Let’s remember that these are our children walking, and indeed sometimes running around their campus. The five seconds you will save by speeding on the Avenue is not worth the small risk of hitting a boy.
On another note, as we engage in the festive season and look forward to 2018, it’s important to take time and appreciate all strength and diversity our UCC community brings. We would like to find a way to share more of that richness with each other and the boys. If you’re part of a community that has traditions, practices or celebrations you’d like to share with the boys at the Prep, I’d invite you to contact me and we’d be happy to facilitate sharing in each other’s cultures.
