Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Message from Tanya Sweeney, Head, Preparatory School

Dear Prep families,

Thank you for your ongoing engagement with the CLP and the support of your child’s learning. This week included our first Wellbeing Wednesday for our Primary grades. The day included Colour House at Home activities, social card game activities and extra library time for Years 3 and 4. Additional initiatives included Creative Corner and library time for K-2, some Norval fun for our Years 3-5, and Karaoke with Ms. Heo for Year 5.

Wellbeing activities for Years 6 and 7 are placed throughout the week in the afternoons. Activities include board and card games, Colour House at Home challenges, Norval initiatives and library activities. This afternoon the boys enjoyed a wonderful presentation from Year 7 father and Hollywood producer Charles Wachter. He has produced over 30 TV series including Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, American Gladiators, King of the Nerds, Fear Factor, Fashion Star, and Apple’s first television series Planet of the Apps, among others.

While these are unfortunate circumstances, they have provided a unique opportunity for the creativity of our faculty and the commitment of our community to truly shine.

Enjoy this week’s videos from Monday assemblies below, and please continue to encourage your son to attend assembly. With the long weekend ahead, our next assembly will be on Monday, May 25.

As the school year comes closer to ending, our Senior Leadership Team is already looking to the fall, preparing several models of what school may look like for our community. We will be well-prepared to respond to the Ministry of Education and Toronto Public Health over the course of the summer and into August. We will keep you regularly informed.

Best wishes for all UCC families to remain well and our ongoing thanks to all parents currently working on the front lines,

Tanya Sweeney
