Message from Tanya Sweeney, Head, Preparatory School
A warm welcome back to all students, families and colleagues! We are glad to be back into routine and working with learners. The winter season, both in academics and co-curricular pursuits, provides many opportunities for collaboration, exploration, and growth.
Given that it is very busy, the days remain dark, and cold/flu season is upon us, it’s important that we all do our best to be good to ourselves and each other.
At the Middle division assembly this week, Gareth Evans shared this video reminding us of the importance of optimism. He also spoke to his optimism about the Prep given an increase in acts of kindness being reported by students and teachers across the Prep this year as he continues to track this data.
In the video, Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield reminds us to take care of ourselves, each other, and our planet – a simple, warm and optimistic message as we launch into our busy winter season.
In collaboration,
Tanya Sweeney
