Message from SK
We’re well into our unit on “Patterns.” The boys have been exploring patterns in nature, language, math and their daily life. As an extension to our pattern unit, our chicks have hatched and have become the focus in our classroom. The boys have been recording their observations and wonderings daily, and making great connections to our Patterns unit.
In math we’re learning about “Fact Families,” decreasing and increasing numbers, and will be adding our teen numbers to our math board. We’ve learned about addition and subtraction, and have built addition and subtraction stories using numbers and pictures.
In language the boys continue to write complete sentences asking themselves, “Does this sentence make sense?” and using proper punctuation to finish their sentence. They’re learning about rhyme, specifically word families that share the same ending and words that don’t, but still rhyme. They’ve written poems and rhyming sentences. Ask them to share them.
A continued thanks to you, the parents who continue to make Clifford a success and an enjoyable experience for your son. We know this couldn’t happen without your support and we very much appreciate it. The smiles, confidence and sense of pride that comes from your sons when they become “Big Cheese” is incredible.
