Message from Ian Robinson, Head, Middle Division
To the parents of all boys in Form 6+7:
And so the Form 7 boys graduate tonight. We’re all looking forward to a wonderful final evening of tradition, recognition and celebration.
I received a number of very supportive comments after last Friday’s Form 6 Prize Day. We wanted to enable the Form 6 boys to have their own special day with the focus exclusively on them and with as many of their parents in attendance as wished to or could make the event. It seemed to work well and it serves as a good model to build on for the 2016 version.
Secondly, the Form 7 celebration party on Monday night in the Upper School student centre was outstanding. More than 330 parents and boys attended this brand new initiative proposed and organized by Jill Adolphe, Johanne Dotsikas and Janet Miklas Moffat and their team. They are to be thanked most sincerely and congratulated for the huge success of this venture. Once again, it was a new idea that took flight and worked – even to the extent of the boys singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, nearly in tune, as a surprise for their parents. Well done everyone. Maybe another tradition has been initiated.
Lastly, tonight will be, I know, another wonderful event with which to finish this year. Let me conclude by wishing our current Form 7 boys a wonderful experience in Year 1 and through the Upper School. I also wish our current Form 6 boys success with all the opportunities that come during their last year at the Prep. I also thank you for all your interest, attention, support and kindness, as I’ve stumbled a few times during this year. I hope that you’d agree I’m now walking correctly and even running at times.
Palmam qui meruit ferat.
