Message from Form 4
Thank you to all parents who came out for the information evening a week ago. It was wonderful to meet you all, and we look forward to a fantastic year ahead. For those of you who were unable to attend, please email Kathryn O’Brien or Paul Faggion if you’ve any questions about the Form 4 program.
Both forms have started their first unit of inquiry, “Oh Canada!” The boys have been bringing in wonderful artifacts that reflect their connection to Canada. In the next week, we’ll be learning the spelling of the provinces and territories. You may want to help your son practise at home. Over the next month, we’ll be exploring the physical geography and history of Canada.
The reading logs have come home for Grade 4. Please encourage your son to read daily. If your son needs suggestions for some fantastic books, please ask him to talk with his friends and visit Ms. Love and Ms. Fisher in the library. Thank you for your support in signing the weekly reading log.
Please remember to label all your son’s belongings with his name. It makes it a lot easier to get missing items back to their owners.
We’re focusing on first impressions for September. We’re discussing things such as being organized with homework, behaviour in the hallways and at recess, as well as uniform and personal appearance. Please refer to the Family Handbook for the UCC expectations around these issues.
Thank you to parents who’ve been signing your son’s agenda. The agenda is a communication tool that the boys use to record homework and important events. By signing the agenda, you confirm that you’ve seen the homework and are aware of what’s going on at school. Please contact us if you’ve any questions or concerns about homework or school events.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Terry Fox Run. Boys are encouraged to wear their colour-house colours. As well, we look forward to seeing everyone again on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Association Day. Information about the day and the events are included in this week’s Heads Up.
