Exams are clearly the main focus for the remaining days of school.

Your sons could take advantage of Tuesday’s exam tutorial day where they can see teachers for additional support. They can also study on their own at home or in the library. Whatever their choices, they’ll impact exam performance and serve to help them develop these important skills over their remaining years at the Upper School.

Please bear in mind that, like anything else, this is a learning process and mistakes are likely to be made in studying approaches or in the actual writing of exams — or both. The key, as always, is the ability to analyze the approach and performance and make the necessary adjustments to be better the next time. Discipline, time management, focus and sacrifice are a few important concepts to apply that generally improve one’s exam performance. Any guidance you can provide to help your sons along this journey will be beneficial.

The final day of classes is Friday, June 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is exam review morning when students review their corrected exams and consolidate their learning even further. Boys will attend abbreviated classes for every subject and Intermediate Division boys are asked to make written reflections about each exam. This forms part of each boy’s learning portfolio, which informs his future exam writing experiences.

All boys will be dismissed and summer vacation officially begins at 12:30 p.m. Have a wonderful summer.

Thanks for reading.
