Message from Derek Poon, Intermediate Division head

derek poonUpcoming Intermediate Division dates:

Monday, Nov. 23: Year 2 photo day; first dress; period one starts at 8:30 a.m.; arts assembly, 9:55 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 25 to Saturday, Nov. 28: Fall play Waiting For Godot, Laidlaw Hall, 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 29: Festival of Carols and Christmas Music, Laidlaw Hall, 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Tryouts for winter sports teams are underway and interested boys must pay attention to email notices and sign-up notices. Spots on teams are increasingly more competitive with age as the funnel narrows, so support your son in his efforts to achieve his goals and take the resiliency building approach should he be unsuccessful. Advise him to speak directly to the coach about what he needs to do to better his chances next time and help him improve those aspects as soon as possible.

The swim team doesn’t have cuts and the rowing team welcomes all who want to be a part of its tradition by committing to early morning training during the winter months. Good luck to all.

Theatre moves into the spotlight this week with the opening of the fall play Waiting For Godot. Please mark your calendars for the night that suits your schedule best and come out and support our theatre enthusiasts. Limited theatre opportunities for Intermediate Division boys are also available either on stage or in a supportive role. Rehearsals are underway for performances that will take place in early March.

The annual Festival of Carols and Christmas Music is this coming Sunday. The student and faculty performers under the leadership of our music faculty have been rehearsing dutifully. Please come out and enjoy the music and songs of the season.

Thanks for reading.
