derek poonFriday, June 5 – Thursday June 11: Y1-IB1 exams
Thursday, June 11: Locker Clean Out

Exams are obviously the main focus for the remaining days of school. Perhaps your son took advantage of today’s exam tutorial day and saw teachers for additional support, or perhaps he prepared on his own at home or at a local library. Whatever his choices were, they will impact his performance and serve to help him develop these important skills over his remaining years at the upper school. Please bear in mind that like anything else, this is a learning process and mistakes are likely to be made in studying approaches or in the actual writing of his exams or both. The key as always is his ability to analyze his approach and performance and make the necessary adjustments to be be better the next time. Discipline, time management, focus and sacrifice are few important concepts to apply that generally improve one’s exam performance. Any guidance you can provide to help him along his journey will be beneficial.

Please remember that the final day of classes is Monday, June 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is exam review morning when students look at their corrected exams and consolidate their learning even further. Boys will attend abbreviated classes for every subject and iDiv boys are asked to make written reflections about each exam. This forms part of his learning portfolio which informs his future exam writing experiences. At 12:30 p.m. all boys will be dismissed and summer vacation officially begins.

Thanks for reading.
